About the Department

Public infrastructure for a digital government.

The Digital Development Department builds and runs the shared systems that let every government service work online — securely, consistently, and in one place.

Our mandate

We exist to make government digital services trustworthy by default.

Established in 2026 under the Ministry of Digital Development and Communications, the Department sets the standards, operates the shared platforms, and coordinates the agencies that deliver public services online. The work is deliberately invisible: when it succeeds, people simply reach the service they need.

What we do

Shared platforms, run as public infrastructure

Government login, the service gateway, and digital document signing are operated centrally so agencies don't rebuild the same foundations. Each platform is monitored around the clock and held to a published service standard.

How we work

Standards first, built with the agencies that use them

Every guideline — accessibility, security, data protection — is drafted openly, tested with the departments that will adopt it, and published in full. Compliance is supported, not assumed.

Who we serve

The public, through the institutions they already trust

Citizens rarely interact with the Department directly. We equip ministries, regional offices, and public bodies to offer clear, consistent digital services under their own names.

Principles

What guides the work

Trustworthy by default

Security, privacy, and accessibility are requirements from the first line of code — never features added later.

Plain and legible

Clear language, generous space, and honest framing. No inflated claims, no clutter.

Built to be shared

Every platform and standard is designed for reuse across government, so the effort is spent once.
